Plans for a new East Stand at Blackpool Football Club are due to be submitted next month.

Architects' plans been drawn up and fans forums had received the proposals "positively", the club said.

The project will receive about £6.5m from Blackpool's £40m Town Deal, and work is expected to start next spring.

Work on community pitches next to the stadium will also start in the new year.

The Revoe Sports Village plans have been delayed since planning permission was granted in January 2023.

Councillors had approved a plan for an enclosed full-size 11-a-side artificial grass pitch and an enclosed five-a-side artificial grass pitch, both with floodlighting, a single-storey changing pavilion, and a storage building.

A report to the council’s Tourism, Economy and Communities Scrutiny Committee on Thursday said architects’ plans for the new spectator stand at the Seasiders’ Bloomfield Road ground - which makes up the second phase of investment - have been drawn up.

Sixteen properties on Henry Street that will need to be knocked down to make way for the new stand have now been bought by the council, and demolition of garages is due to start soon.

Agreements are in place to buy a further two properties, with negotiations ongoing for another three.

The project is expected to be complete by 2026.
