Three men have appeared in court charged with possessing offensive weapons in public during a protest in York.
Edward Savvas, 19, Mohammed Wako, 22, and Adam Boukhaf, 22, were arrested on Fawcett Street on 7 August.
At York Crown Court, Mr Wako denied possessing a barbell in public and Mr Boukhaf pleaded not guilty to having a pair of armoured motorcycle gloves.
Savvas had admitted having a barbell in his possession at an earlier hearing. The men appeared via videolink and were remanded into custody.
The three men will next appear in court on 6 September.
Mr Wako and Mr Boukhaf are scheduled to stand trial on 21 November.
