Teen killed in motorbike crash near Dumfries

The incident occurred on the C11N road between Kirkton and Auldgirth

An 18-year-old man has died in an early morning motorbike crash.

The incident happened at about 04:35 on the C11N road between Kirkton and Auldgirth, near Dumfries.

The man, who was riding Lexmoto LXR125 motorbike, died at the scene.

The road was closed to allow for a police accident investigation and has since reopened.

Road police are appealing for information and said the family of the biker have been informed of his death.

Sgt Lloyd Caven said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"We are asking anyone driving on this road prior to the crash who may have information that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.

"In particular, please check dash-cams and if you have footage that may help then make contact with officers."
