A man has been charged with the murder of his wife after a woman was found dead at a property in Wolverhampton.

Anjanee Sandhir was found with serious injuries at an address on Finchfield Road at about 20:20 BST on Monday evening, and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Her husband Shivinder Sandhir has been charged with her murder, West Midlands Police said.

The 41-year-old was arrested on Monday and is due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

West Midlands Police said they were not looking for anyone else as part of the investigation.

"A scene remains in place while we continue with inquiries to help us fully understand the circumstances, and extra officers will be in the area during the coming days," a spokesperson for the force said.

"Our thoughts remain with her family and officers are offering support at this most awful time."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
