A number of buses have been targeted by boys in Stockton

A woman was injured when "young boys" threw an object at the bus she was travelling on.

The passenger's hand was cut by glass from a window which was smashed while the bus was travelling along Marsh House Avenue in Stockton.

Cleveland Police said seven buses had been targeted by children since Sunday, including another which had its window broken while it was on Scurfield Road in Hardwick.

The force has asked parents to check where their children are and what they are doing.

Insp Chris Williams said detectives were reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible.

He said the damage caused to the bus on Scurfield Road could have caused a "serious collision".

"I know it is half term now and children will be out with their friends, however I encourage parents and guardians to speak to their children to find out where they are and what they are doing."
