Roads to shut for 'general housekeeping'

A summer-long programme of work is planned across Derbyshire's dual carriageways

Dual carriageways across Derbyshire are set to shut for a rolling programme of "general housekeeping" the county council has said.
The programme will involve grass cutting, tree and shrub trimming, gulley and drain clearing and repairs to potholes on A roads from the first weekend in July until mid-August.
Litter picks are also planned by district and borough councils.
Cabinet Member for Potholes, Highways and Transport Councillor Charlotte Hill, said closures were planned "outside of peak times" where possible and "lots of different jobs" would be tackled "at the same time".
The programme of road closures through July starts with the A617.
Slip road closures take place between Heath and Temple Normanton on Saturday 5 July from 06:00 to 18:00 BST and Sunday 6 July from 06:00 to 18:00, while the A617 at Chesterfield has overnight lane closures at Lordsmill Street on Tuesday 8 July from 19:00 to 04:00 and at the M1 Junction 29 at Doe Lea from Friday 11 July from 20:00 to 06:00.
The A52 Shirley Hollow at Ashbourne has lane closures on Monday 7 July between 09:30 and 15:00.
The A619 at Chesterfield has overnight lane closures at Markham Road on Wednesday 9 July between 19:00 and 04:00, and a full overnight closure at Baslow Road, Chander Hill, on Thursday 10 July between 19:00 and 04:00.
Near Barlborough, the A616/A6135 at Junction 30 of the M1 will have lane closures on Saturday 12 July between 20:00 and 06:00.
Along the A61, there will be lane closures at Alfreton Hill and the B6025 on Monday 14 July and at Bowshaw roundabout, Dronfield, on Thursday 17 July, both between 09:30 and 15:30.
Then the A617 Pleasley will see lane closures between 09:30 and 15:30 on Friday 18 July.
And the A61 Dronfield bypass will be closed from 06:00 and 18:00 on Sunday 20 July and Sunday 27 July.

The A621 Owler Bar will have lanes shut on Tuesday 15 July from 09:30 and 15:30, while the A632 Slack Hill, Kelstedge, will shut northbound Wednesday 16 July between 09:30 and 15:30.
The A6 will have lanes closed for work at Chapel en le Frith from Monday 21 July to Thursday 24 July, and at Taddington on Friday 25 July, both times between 07:00 and 15:30.
The A515 near Ashbourne will be shut at Collycroft, Clifton, from Monday 28 July between 20:00 until 04:00 the next day, and have overnight lane closures on the link road between the A52 airfield industrial estate and the A515 on both Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 July between 20:00 and 04:00.
Near Swadlincote, the A444 High Cross, Church Gresley, will be closed overnight on Thursday 31 July between 20:00 and 04:00.
Further works are also scheduled throughout August.
