A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a 79-year-old man in Leeds.

Colin Starbuck died after he was found seriously injured near to a bus stop outside the Tesco supermarket in Aberford Road, Garforth, on 29 October.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Thomas Childe, 23 and of no fixed abode, appeared before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

No pleas were entered during the hearing and the case was sent to Leeds Crown Court, where Mr Childe is due to appear on Wednesday.
