Man arrested over assault on police officer

A man has been arrested after a police officer was assaulted in a city centre park.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at 12:40 BST after a man reportedly verbally abused members of the public and made threats at Northernhay Gardens in Exeter.
Police said one officer was attacked but they were not seriously injured.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and being wanted on a warrant.
