Man charged after fatal five-vehicle crash on A1

Police are appealing for witnesses after the fatal crash on Wednesday

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a five-vehicle collision on a busy A-road.
A Mercedes lorry travelling southbound on the A1 near Peterborough was involved in a collision with a black Skoda Octavia, a red DAF lorry, a blue Kia Ceed and a black Mercedes-Benz Vito van, at about 16:25 BST on Wednesday.
The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 70s from the Cambridge area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 55-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Cambridgeshire Police said there were no other injuries in the incident, which happened close to Stibbington.
