Old social club site auction to start at £1.2m

A site of a once popular Birmingham social club is to go under the hammer, with bidding starting at £1.22m.
The former Ivy Leaf social club, external in Sheldon had planning consent for demolition and redevelopment to build a three-storey block of 50 apartments, auctioneer Bond Wolfe said.
It stated there was permission for the apartments and a ground-floor retail unit, but potential existed for other uses, if alternative consent could be secured.
The former Ivy Leaf would be offered for sale at a livestreamed auction on 11 December, unless a pre-auction sale was agreed, Bond Wolfe said.
The A45 Coventry Road site provided "easy access" to Birmingham Airport "and train station and the national motorway network at junction 6 of the M42".
The old social club's war memorial would be saved, external, Birmingham Live has previously reported.
