Approximately 300,000 people are due in Brighton this weekend for one of the biggest Pride events of its kind.

Brighton & Hove Pride 2025 starts on Saturday morning with the community parade weaving its way through the city, before two days of music in Preston Park headlined by Mariah Carey.

Road closures, diversions and train alterations will be in force throughout the weekend to help manage the large expected crowds.

A spokesperson for Brighton Pride said: "With the possibility of large crowds staying for the headline artists, we advise you to plan your journey in advance, especially if you are leaving the city on Saturday night."

Events

Some of the highlights of Pride weekend events include:

  • Community Parade from Hove Lawns to Preston Park (Saturday from 11:00 BST until 15:00 approx)

  • Pride on the Park in Preston Park - Mariah Carey headlines Saturday and Sugababes on Sunday (from 13:00 to 22:30 both days)

  • Street Party on Marine Parade - Sat 14:00 to 23:00; Sun 14:00 to 21:00

Rail

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) - which runs Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express train services to and from Brighton - has said it is running more trains and extra carriages will be added to services over Pride weekend.

A spokesperson said: "Please allow plenty of time to get to and from events as trains will be very busy and you may not be able to board the first service."

Attendees should allow at least an hour to get to Brighton station from any of the Pride festival sites, according to GTR.

Preston Park and London Road stations will be closed all weekend.

Roads

Large areas of the seafront and surrounding roads in Brighton and Hove will be closed for the parade for much of Saturday.

Roads closed until the afternoon include London Road, Preston Road, Queen's Road and Grand Parade.

There will be no parking at Preston Park and its surroundings all weekend.

Parking is restricted on a large section of Madeira Drive.

A Pride spokesperson said: "Parking in the centre of Brighton can be both limited and expensive, so we suggest you use public transport where you can."
