Murder arrest after man fatally stabbed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing.

Emergency services were called to Davies Road in Salisbury at 07:52 BST, after reports that a man had been stabbed.

The victim, a man in his 50s, died at the scene, Wiltshire Police said.

A 21-year-old man, from Durrington, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody while police carry out enquiries.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said the victim's family are being supported by specialist officers.

"Our thoughts are with them at this hard time," a police spokesperson added.

The force said there is no wider risk to the public. A smaller cordon will remain in Davies Road overnight.
