A woman and her dog were rescued from a fire which was started deliberately.
Fire crews were called to a flat in Mackrells Terrace, Newton Abbot, at 19:40 BST on Tuesday.
"On arrival, crews entered wearing breathing apparatus and rescued a female and a dog," said Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
The cause of the fire, which was extinguished, "was deemed as deliberate ignition", said the fire service.
