Second arson arrest after fire at seaside hotel
- Published
Officers have arrested a second man following a series of fires at a derelict seafront hotel.
Firefighters were called to reports of fires at the Ocean Hotel in Sandown on the Isle of Wight on 5 and 8 August.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it had arrested a 20-year-old man from Sandown on suspicion of arson.
Officers previously arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of arson and he remains on conditional bail until 18 November.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they would like to speak to as a part of their ongoing enquiries into the fires.
Nobody was found inside the building when fire crews arrived at the site twice in one week last month and no injuries were reported.
The owners of the hotel have previously been handed tidy-up enforcement orders by the council and police.
