Three teenagers have been arrested after a man was chased and stabbed in the back.

Hertfordshire Police said the 23-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment after an altercation at about 13:20 GMT on Sunday, 9 February in Warwick Road, Stevenage.

Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of attempted murder, while another 16-year-old boy was arrested on Friday in connection with the incident.

Detectives said all three had been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The force believed it was an isolated incident and added there had been extra police patrols in the area.

Det Con Stuart Lennon said: "I appreciate the nature of this incident is concerning, and detectives are working hard to piece together the full circumstances of what happened.

"We have also increased patrols in the area and, if you have any concerns, please do speak with our officers."
