Gang of four jailed for Class A drug offences

The drugs were allegedly smuggled to Guernsey from the UK

Four islanders have been jailed for being part of a gang dealing Class A drugs in Guernsey.
Ryan Benjamin Gallie, 20, and Sophie Michelle Head, 22, were jointly charged with, and pleaded guilty to, the supply of Class A MDMA and Class C anti-seizure drug Gabapentin in November 2023.
Gallie was sentenced to six-and-a-half years and Head to four years when they appeared before Guernsey's Royal Court.
Simon James Aynsley Domaille, 45, and Aaron John Sarre, 34, were each separately sentenced for one count of the supply of MDMA in November 2023. Domaine was given three years while Sarre was jailed for two years and nine months.
'No remorse'
Domaille pleaded guilty to the single offence of possessing 100 MDMA pills.
Passing sentence, Royal Court Judge Catherine Fooks described the group as being "part of a chain" of drug dealing in the island.
Judge Fooks said Gallie, who had also pleaded guilty to an additional charge of supply and possession of Class B cannabis, had "shown no remorse" for the part he played in the operation.
Drugs with an estimated street value of £2,350 were recovered following a police raid on the home of Gallie and Head in Albion Court, St Sampson's.
'Wholesale dealer'
Prosecutor Jenny McVeigh told the court that Gallie had an estimated 236 MDMA pills in his possession during the drug dealing spree - which have not all been recovered.
The were said to have a value of £5,900.
Ms McVeigh said Gallie smuggled the MDMA "from the UK" and came into the possession of "home-grown cannabis".
The court heard the drugs were supplied to Domaille and Sarre by Gallie, whom Judge Fooks described as a "wholesale dealer".
Guernsey Police said phone analysis of text messages was crucial in the conviction of the group.
Senior investigating officer Dave Parrot said: "The supply of class A controlled drugs is a serious offence.
"These are substances that can bring serious harm to members of our community and, as such, Guernsey Police will continue to proactively tackle the supply of controlled drugs in the Bailiwick."
