E-scooter rider badly hurt in possible hit-and-run

An electric scooter rider suffered a punctured lung after a crash where the driver of a car failed to stop at the scene, police said.

Officers said the incident took place at the junction of The Drive and Tudor Road in Northampton on Monday between 17:00 and 17:30 GMT.

The driver of the car – thought to be a blue Vauxhall Corsa - did not stop at the scene.

The scooter rider is believed to be aged in his 30s.

Northamptonshire Police appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to get in touch.
