Biker, 71, killed in crash is named by police

A biker who was killed in a crash near Langholm in Dumfries and Galloway has been named by police.

Thomas Edgar died from his injuries after his motorbike was involved in a crash on the A7 between Middleholm and Skippers Bridge on Saturday.

The 71-year-old was airlifted to hospital, but died before arriving.

Insp Bob McNay said: "Our thoughts are with Thomas' family and friends at this difficult time."

Police Scotland said their inquiries were continuing and appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.
