Concrete blocks painted green like 'Legoland'

The concrete blocks were introduced on Mount Street to stop illegal parking

Concrete blocks installed to prevent illegal parking on a grass verge have been painted dark green after complaints from residents.
People living on Mount Street in Gloucester said the blocks looked "horrible" after they were installed earlier this month.
Councillor Rebecca Trimnell, who represents the area at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "I do believe the simple job of painting these concrete blocks has improved them greatly."
She said the colour change had also been welcomed by residents and said one told her: "They look like Duplo bricks… but I like it more than anti-tank concrete blocks… I'd rather live in Legoland."
Leaders of Gloucestershire County Council said previously they installed the blocks after police reported that untaxed vehicles were being parked illegally on the grass verge.
Councillors say the temporary measure is designed to prevent further misuse until they come up with a permanent solution, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Councillor Colin Hay, finance assets and transformation cabinet member, said: "We are actively working with the local residents to find a long-term solution for the site which is both fit for purpose and suitable to best meet the needs of the community."
