Police identify body found on Cornwall beach

Police say they have identified the body of a man who was found on a beach in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called at 07:30 GMT to Great Western Beach in Newquay, where the man was confirmed dead.

Officers said they were trying to find and inform his next of kin.

Det Con Simon Murray said: "We, of course, want to locate and inform his next of kin as soon as possible".

Officers said they did not believe he had been in the water for very long.
