Two women have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a dog attack in a Fenland town.
Cambridgeshire Police said the incident, which involved a mixed-breed dog, happened at about 10.45 GMT on Sunday in Papworth Road, March.
The women were taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious but not life-threatening bite injuries.
A man who stepped in to help bring the dog under control suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
The dog was put down after being seized by police.
It was not thought to have been covered by dangerous dog legislation, the force said.
