A man has died after a crash involving a motorbike and a car, police have said.

Officers were called to a collision involving a motorbike and a Land Rover Freelander on the A683 Burrow Road in Burrow, Carnforth, at about 13:20 BST on Monday.

The motorbike rider, a 51-year-old man, was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died earlier, a police spokesperson said.

Sgt Joe Ghigi from Lancashire Police said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very sad and distressing time."

He appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact police.

“This is a rural area but there will have been vehicles using the road," he added.
