Section of A27 shut following serious crash

A section of the A27 near Brighton has been shut because of a serious multiple vehicle crash.
Shortly after 17:15 BST on Thursday, National Highways said the road had been shut eastbound between the A270 at Mile Oak and the A293 at Hangleton because of a collision.
National Highways said emergency services were working at the scene and its own contractors were going to the area to help with closures on the approach.
Sussex Police has been contacted for a comment.
