Man has life-threatening injuries after stabbing

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Eastbourne, police have said.

Officers were called to a report of a fight in Seaside Road in the town at about 20:20 BST on Thursday.

The man, along with two others who sustained minor stab wounds, was taken to hospital.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and taken into custody.

The road was closed between the junctions with Cavendish Place and North Street.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and Sussex Police said it had an "increased presence" in the area.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV to come forward.
