The owner of a family-run burger joint said he felt reassured by the "enormous community support" following an arson attack at their premises.

Adam Miller's food trailer was set on fire in Norman Cross, Yaxley, near Peterborough, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Firefighters concluded the cause of the blaze was deliberate.

But Mr Miller said customers still turned out in force when they opened that evening, and he added: "We don't let things like this beat us."

"We have a huge amount of support from the community and it is so reassuring, to see people going out of their way to try and help us which is amazing," he said.

"[We are] really grateful for our customers."

Adam Miller and Amber Higgs said they had returned from a holiday only on Friday night and were looking forward to getting back to business before the arson attack

The business was set up three years ago in a converted shipping container by Mr Miller and his partner Amber Higgs.

Mr Miller said a police officer happened to be on patrol in the area when they spotted the fire, which, Mr Miller said, "prevented it from spreading and being a big incident".

"We are lucky - but there was a lot of petrol splashed across the site so there was great intent to cause huge amount of damage," he said.

Ms Higgs added: "It was really sad to see someone do this to a family-run business."

The eatery remained open for business as usual on Saturday evening.
