Girl, 15, seriously hurt after being hit by tram

A 15-year-old girl has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a tram in Sheffield.

The girl and a 17-year-old boy were both struck by the tram on Woodburn Road, at the junction with Staniforth Road on Sunday afternoon, South Yorkshire Police said.

Both were taken to hospital, where the girl remains in a "stable condition", officers added. The boy suffered minor injuries.

Any witnesses, or people with CCTV or dashcam footage have been asked to contact the force.
