A man has been left seriously injured after being hit by a car in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Kippax at about 21:25 BST on Friday to reports of a collision involving a red Honda Jazz and a pedestrian.

The man, aged in his 20s, had been crossing the road near the Old Tree Inn, High Street, at the time of the crash, officers said.

The driver of the Honda stopped at the scene, with the pedestrian taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or footage has been asked to contact the force.
