A priest is under investigation by the Church of England after admitting a drink driving offence.
The Rev Sion Hughes-Carew, 40, was charged following the incident on Vine Street in Lincoln in October.
He was disqualified from driving for two years after pleading guilty to being over the alcohol level limit during a hearing at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on 30 October.
The Diocese of Lincoln said Hughes-Carew was now the subject of a formal disciplinary process "as required by the Clergy Discipline Measure".
"This situation is being taken very seriously," the diocese said in a statement.
"We understand that this will be an unsettling time. Pastoral support and guidance is being offered to all concerned, and will always be available for those who need it.
"We pray for all those who are affected by this news, mindful of our calling to love and serve one another in Christ's name."
Hughes-Carew, of Croft Street, Lincoln, was also fined £873 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £349.
