Special constable accused of harassing woman

A special constable is due in court charged with the harassment of a woman he knew over a three-month period.
James Mouzoure, of Taunton Road, Bridgwater is alleged to have used text, phone and social media messages to harass the woman between August and October last year.
The 35-year-old served as a special constable for Avon and Somerset Police. The volunteer role comes with the same powers and responsibilities as a regular police officer.
He is due to appear at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Thursday to face one charge of harassment without fear of violence.
He was suspended following his arrest, Avon and Somerset Police said.
Det Supt Larisa Hunt, head of the force's professional standards department, added: "We'd like to reassure the public that an investigation was immediately launched after we received the allegations in October 2024."
She said an internal misconduct investigation will run "in parallel" with criminal proceedings.
