Man charged with attempted murder after pub stabbing

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm

A 44-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Crossmaglen, County Armagh, on Sunday.

A man in his 40s suffered deep cuts to his hand and a number of more superficial wounds to his head and neck, police said.

Officers were called to a bar on Concession Road at about 21:20 BST.

The man charged over the attack is due to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

As well as the attempted murder charge, he is accused of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
