Biker, 61, killed in Edinburgh hit-and-run crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a hit-and-run crash with a car in Edinburgh.

The 61-year-old man, who was riding a Kawasaki KLE650, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A90 Queensferry Road near Parkgrove Street.

The car drove off towards Edinburgh city centre before emergency services arrived at about 23:15 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland is working to trace the unknown vehicle and appealed to anyone with information to contact them, external.

Sgt Paul Ewing said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our inquiries remain ongoing.

"We are continuing to review CCTV footage in an effort to trace the car and its driver.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us."

The road was closed for seven hours for investigations and reopened at 06:35.
