A second woman has died after a car carrying four people left a carriageway and hit a tree.

Norfolk Police said patrolling officers found the black Mini One by the southbound A11 near Ketteringham, at about 05:15 GMT on Sunday.

The driver, a woman in her 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge in a critical condition and died on Tuesday.

A rear passenger, a woman in her 20s, died at the scene.

The road was closed while emergency services attended, including the air ambulance, and reopened at about 11:30.

A woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s, who were also passengers, were seriously injured and remained in a stable condition in hospital.

The force urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner in which the Mini was being driven before the incident to get in touch.

It said the investigation into the cause of the collision was ongoing.
