Two young males have been charged with firework offences after disruption in Glasgow on Bonfire Night, police have said.

Police Scotland said a 20-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested after disorder in Pollokshields on 5 November.

The force said disturbances in the area saw groups of young people throwing projectiles - including fireworks and bricks - at public property, police officers and vehicles.

They said they were continuing to work on identifying other individuals that were involved.

'Public alarm'

Police Scotland said no officers were harmed but the incidents did cause significant alarm to people who live in and around Pollokshields.

Chief Superintendent Lynn Ratcliff said: “In the wake of the disorder we experienced that everyone responsible would be brought to justice and that remains the case."

She said officers were calling for any members of the public with evidence or information to come forward to help with the investigation.

Members of the public with their own video or photographic evidence can submit it via the police's Major Incident Public Portal., external
