More than 13,000 runners took to the streets of Oxford on Sunday for the city's annual half marathon.

Participants started and finished on Mansfield Road in the city, passing sites including the Bodleian Library, Sheldonian Theatre and Radcliffe Camera along the 13.1-mile (21.1km) route.

Organisers Motiv Sports UK said this year's race was the largest ever, with places sold out in January.

It said more than £1.2m had so far been raised for charity, while an estimated 20,000 supporters lined the streets to cheer the runners on.

Emily Whitaker, Motiv Sports UK, said it had been "incredible to see the Oxford Half continue to grow".

"The atmosphere on the streets today captured everything that makes this event so special - community spirit, determination and generosity," she added.

The men's category of the race was won by George Grassly in a time of one hour and five minutes and Charlie Arnell was the fastest woman around the route in one hour and 15 minutes.

Gary Cooper won the wheelchair race in a time of one hour and 10 minutes.
