A 17-year-old boy is in hospital with a serious head injury after a hit-and-run crash in West Sussex, police have said.

The crash happened in St Pancras, Chichester, near the junction with New Park Road between 14:00 and 14:30 BST on Thursday.

The teenager, who was riding a scooter, was involved in a crash with a dark coloured car which failed to stop, Sussex Police said.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and specifically want to speak to the drivers of two dark cars spotted in the area at the time.
