Arson charge over fire at seafront concert venue

A man has been charged with arson following a fire at a seaside concert and conference venue.
Smoke was seen billowing from the roof of Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) on Monday evening.
Dorset Police said Shane Wilson, 38, of no fixed address, was charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
He was remanded in custody before appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Crews were alerted to the fire affecting the outside roof fascia of the venue in Exeter Road at about 19:30 BST.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue crews put out the fire and left the scene by about 21:30.
BIC had been closed at the time and no injuries were reported.
