Cocaine found during two searches in Dublin on Wednesday has a street value of about €1.2m, gardaí say

About €1.2m (£1m) of cocaine has been seized during searches of two houses in Dublin.

On Wednesday, gardaí (Irish police) searched a residence in Dublin 11, where 12kg of suspected cocaine with a street value of about €840,000 (£729,090) was discovered.

At a separate operation at a home in Dublin 15, 5.5kg of the drug was found with an approximate street value of €375,000 (£325,000). The seized substances will be sent for forensic analysis.

Two men, one in his 30s and the other in his 40s, who were arrested at the scene have since been charged in connection to the seizure.
