A campaign to boost hospitality businesses at night during the quieter autumn and winter months has been launched in Cornwall.
Falmouth Business Improvement District (BID) said at a time when hospitality businesses were facing "significant challenges", its 'After 5' campaign aimed to bring more people to the town.
The first part of the initiative, called Falmouth First Friday, begins on 3 October where businesses will offer a mix of deals, special menus, and events to draw people into the town.
It will then run on the first Friday of every month until March 2026, Falmouth BID said.
Falmouth BID, a not-for-profit business, said its campaign was designed to encourage residents, students, and visitors to spend more time in the town after 17:00.
It said: "The new initiative aims to provide a boost for local businesses during the quieter autumn and winter months."
Manager Keren Cooksey said hospitality businesses have had to "navigate an incredibly difficult period" from increasing costs to the impact of changing customer spending habits.
"Campaigns like Falmouth After 5 are about taking proactive steps to help," Ms Cooksey said.
"By shining a spotlight on our brilliant independent businesses, we hope to drive footfall and support these great venues that are so important to Falmouth's economy and community."
'Unified approach'
Owner of The Shed Toby Lamb said the campaign was a chance for local businesses to support one another whilst celebrating everything the town had to offer after dark.
"It's been a tough time for hospitality businesses, so it's fantastic to see a unified approach from Falmouth's venues," he said.
"We're excited to be part of something that brings the community together and showcases the best of Falmouth."
