Clothing firm boss offers reward after container stolen

The CEO and founder of a fashion retailer has offered a £10,000 reward after a shipping container holding thousands of hoodies was stolen.

Andrew Killingsworth, of Yours Clothing, said the container of 3,800 garments was stolen from a yard in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire on 3 October.

Mr Killingsworth, who started his business on a market stall, said it was unlikely he would get the goods back, but wanted those who took the container to be caught.

"It's not right," he told the BBC. "In the scheme of things [stealing] puts the price of goods up as shops cover the losses and insurance premiums increase."

'Unknowingly selling stolen items'

Mr Killingsworth, who also owns Spalding United FC, offered the reward for information leading to a conviction.

The missing container held thousands of longline fleece zip hoodies in UK sizes 14 to 36 with Yours Clothing branded labels and swing ticket tags.

He asked anyone who came across the products being sold in shops, on market stalls, car boot sales, online or elsewhere, to report it.

"I started the whole business from a market stall, I'm very much involved and very annoyed," he said.

"People know to look out for them, it's a specific fleece... a bestseller... some traders may be unknowingly selling the stolen items."

Northamptonshire Police and Suffolk Police, who responded to the incident, have been contacted for comment.
