A fire has destroyed a terraced house and spread to several other homes.

The fire, on Braemore Close in Thatcham, broke out on Tuesday shortly before 20:00 BST.

Crews from five Berkshire stations and one from Hampshire were sent to the mid-terrace home where the fire had spread to the roof and neighbouring properties.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said one person was taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service. An investigation into the cause is under way.
