Man, 73, dies after car and bus crash

A 73-year-old man has died after his car crashed with a bus in West Sussex.

Sussex Police said they were called to the collision on Brighton Road, Woodmancote, near Henfield, shortly after 11:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The vehicle went on to collide with another car further along the road after crashing with the bus, the force added.

The man - who police said was local to the area- was pronounced dead at the scene, despite efforts by paramedics.

The driver of the second car, a 63-year-old woman from Henfield, suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.

No one was injured on the bus, according to Sussex Police.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines to the scene. The road was closed on Tuesday afternoon.

Police officers have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact them.
