Police have launched a murder inquiry after the death of a man at a house in Airdrie.
Officers were called to the incident on Hamilton Drive, in the North Lanarkshire town, at about 00:15 on Thursday.
A 30-year-old man died at the scene and a 27-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Police Scotland has opened a major incident portal, external where members of the public can submit information to assist the investigation.
Det Ch Insp Bob Williamson said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.
"An extensive investigation is being carried out, including door-to-door enquiries and we are examining CCTV footage of the area.
"We urge anyone with any information to contact us. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital."
