A 34-year-old man who sexually assaulted a child and filmed himself raping a woman has been jailed for 18 years.

Tabarik Hussain from Bretton, Peterborough, filmed himself on two occasions having sex with a woman while she was asleep and unable to give consent.

Hussain admitted engaging in sexual communications with a child, but denied two counts of rape, three of voyeurism, two of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, making indecent photographs of a child and harassment.

He was jailed on 6 December at Peterborough Crown Court after he was found guilty on all counts at two separate trials in April and November at the same court.

Phone seized

The rape offences were revealed when Hussain was arrested for sexually assaulting a child in 2023.

The trial heard Hussain sent a text message to the child congratulating her on her 12th birthday, followed by sexual messages - including images of his genitals - and he sexually assaulted her twice at her home. The girl told an adult and Hussain was arrested.

When his phone was seized and analysed by officers the videos involving the woman were discovered.

Officers also found 18 indecent images and videos of children on the device.

Det Con Abbie Mcquaid, from Cambridgeshire Constabulary, said: "Several women and a young girl have faced the stress of giving evidence in court to ensure Hussain faced justice for a broad spectrum of sexual crimes.

"Both the child victim of sexual assault and the victim of rape showed extreme resilience and bravery during these two trials and in the long wait beforehand.

"By not flinching after Hussain forced them to trial, despite the weight of evidence against him, they have ensured other women and girls will be kept safe from him for a long time."
