Guernsey has begun work to explore a new air route to Heathrow, according to the States.

Plans are unlikely to be more certain until the end of this year after the next election, it said.

A spokesperson for Economic Development confirmed the committee was undertaking "early exploration" of the options.

They said it would be "up to a future committee" to take any plan forwards.
