Plans have been approved for a new multi-purpose sport area in Peterborough that looks to tackle inequalities of access.

Labosport Ltd has been commissioned by The Football Foundation and Peterborough Lions Rugby Club to construct a new football and netball space at Bretton Park.

The investment is targeted towards specific people in society, including those from lower socio-economic groups, women and girls, and disabled people.

Sport England said: "It's a great opportunity for the local community." Peterborough City Council's planning authority approved the proposal this week.
