Officers have begun a murder investigation after the death of a man in Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police were called to a house in Dunstall Hill just before 12:45 GMT on Saturday.

"A man was found with serious injuries and sadly nothing could be done to save him," a police spokesperson said.

Police said they were in the early stages of their investigation and a crime scene was in place. Anyone with information was asked to contact the force.

A police presence will remain while inquiries continued and "to provide reassurance in the area".
