Jersey dance students to perform in Disneyland

Dance students in Jersey have been preparing to perform in Disneyland Paris.
The youngsters, from the Silhouette Studios of Performance, have been rehearsing for months for their show due to be performed on the Videopolis stage on Sunday.
Thirty-one children, aged between seven and 16, are due to be on stage for 20 minutes, performing four group dances, along with solo and trios pieces.
Troupe leaders said they hoped the performances would be "really bright and uplifting” for the children".
Fifteen-year-old Megan said they were “trying our best to make it the best we can” and it will be “just amazing with the spotlight on you”.
She added: “I am so excited, but my mum was wondering if I was too old for Disneyland; so I told her no chance because this is such a great opportunity.”
Megan has also found dancing at the school has helped youngsters “motivate each other”.
Eight-year-old Henry is one of the younger dancers going.
He said the trip would be “really exciting” and it will “feel good” when he gets on the stage.
He said: “I like dancing and I thought if I started dancing then I will be healthy."
Henry will be one of the dancers who finishes the group routine in front of the audience.
Narelle O’Connor, who owns Silhouette Studios, said she was excited to take the students out to Disneyland.
She said: “We wanted to give the whole school an opportunity to go and perform somewhere really fun”.
She added that she wanted the performances “to be really bright and uplifting” for the children.
Ms O’Connor said: “Just seeing them up on such a big stage will be such a huge achievement for them and for me.”
The Silhouette Studios of Performance teaches students a range of difference dances, including ballet, modern, jazz and tap.
