Drug driving arrest after biker seriously hurt in crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after a crash which left another man with serious injuries.

Cumbria Police said a 33-year-old from Sedbergh was held after the crash involving a Ford Focus and Triumph motorcycle at about 08:45 BST on Sunday.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened on the A684 between Weathercock Lane and Shacklabank Lane, near Sedbergh.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
