Tractor driver arrested for alleged drug driving

Police say they have arrested a tractor driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the arrest came after a collision between a tractor and a car that closed the A38 and Chudleigh Knighton.

Police say the car involved overturned but the driver managed to escape with minor injuries.

The road has now reopened after the incident, which happened at about 17.30 BST.

Both carriageways had been closed, National Highways said.

"The car had overturned and come to rest in the central reservation," Devon and Cornwall Police added.

"The driver of the car was checked by ambulance crews at the scene."
