A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital after she was hit by a child-sized bicycle thrown from above.

Kent Police said she was walking along Newgate Gap, Margate, with her father on Saturday when the bicycle was thrown from Ethelbert Crescent by an unknown person.

Officers have appealed for dashcam and CCTV footage after the incident at about 19:35 BST, and for anyone who saw someone with the bicycle, described as green and black, to come forward.

Police said that the girl suffered injuries to her head, face, arm and back. She has since been discharged from hospital.
